Random Thought:

This afternoon I got a bug bite on my ass.

Life, the Universe, and Cinnimon Rolls

OK, so I just typed this title, but I realised I don't remember how to spell "Cinnimon." That doesn't look right, but I have no clue what to do with it.

Anyway, this morning I had one of the most productive mornings at work that I've had in a long long time. I actually didn't do anything physically but brew a strong pot of coffee and by some rolls (seasoned with a sweet, spicy herb.) I came to work today, showing up with my co-worker Danny, John, and a couple short-term vollunteers (Man, my spelling is terrible!) A couple more people came as the morning progressed. The beauty of this particular morning is that we sat and chatted like loving human beings. One of the volunteers (is that right?!) is preparing for the Iron Man this next month, so we talked about preparation for that--of course I now feel I should at least do a couple pushups at night after talking to Caleb!

Eventually we shifted to a deeper tone; we started challenging the lifescape we live in--I work for a Christian university, I love the people most of the time, but we looked at the life we live. It's interesting because so often in this Christian bubble I've felt that we tend to put God in a box, as to what He can or can't do, what He will or won't do... Today I realized that I haven't put God in a box, God is God. Instead I've put myself into a box, as to what I can and can't do, or how I can or can't exist in this life.

I told my wife yesterday that I am so glad that I've come here to Hawaii with her. Not because I've enjoyed what's happened while we're here, in fact I've been upset a great deal out here. I am realizing how happy I am to have lived this last two years with my wife: we have lived! I want to experience and love and hurt and fight and love some more!

Well, I kinda rambled there, and I might have gotten most of my point across. Who cares? I'm alive! HA!
